Höppler- and Ostwaldviscosimeter (viscosity of liquids)

The task:
Using a falling sphere viscosimeter (according to Höppler) the viscosity of water at 25, 30, 40 and 50 °C has to be determined. With an Ostwald-viscosimeter the viscosity of water and ethanol at 25 °C has to be determined.

Definition of the dynamic and the cinematic viscosity
Definition of a Newtonian liquid
Various methods for the measurement of the viscosity
Hagen-Poiseuille’s law, Stoke’s equation
T- and p-dependence of the viscosity of gases and liquids.
